The Kind Of Love I Want [Nov. 9th, 2008|06:14 am]

A very inspiring story...

LIFE ISN'T ABOUT HOW TO SURVIVE THE STORM, BUT HOW TO DANCE IN THE RAIN...

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb.

He said he was in a hurry, as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him.

I saw him looking at his watch, and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I inquired as to her health; he told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are'?

He smiled as he patted my hand and said, ''She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left. I had goose bumps on my arms and thought, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life'.

True love is neither physical nor romantic.

True love is acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

A BREAK FROM KIMCHI OVERLOAD [Aug. 3rd, 2008|12:14 am]
Since Mercedes and I got here in Korea for the third time last July 27 we had nothing but Kimchi Overload every meal time except of course for the occasional choco mallows that we buy from the nearby mini mart.

So when we had a day off from the shoot today we didn't let the opportunity pass for us to eat something western...our all time favourite PIZZA and PASTA

We had a very late lunch at FARMER'S TABLE Restaurant at Heyri Park in Paju, South Korea

Spa Day with Beshie and Quality Time with Hon [Jul. 26th, 2008|03:13 am]

Since I am going back to Korea again and will be gone for another 2 weeks...the best way to spend my "last day" would be with of course two of the most important people in my life...

Morning...spa day with my beshie...out of nowhere she offered to treat me to a day in the spa...not just any spa in the metro but Wensha...sad but true and funny but we are both "spa virgins"...we got a much needed pampering...

After a day in the spa we headed to gateway to spend some quality time with my hon...of course i'd be gone for 2 weeks and that's quite a long time to be separated specially for a new "couple"...good thing he'll be busy with his board exams review...i'll see you soon hon...

IGEO EOLMAYEYO? [Jul. 8th, 2008|03:20 am]

Today is rest day...no shooting...so we took advantage of that one day off to explore the shopping center in Seoul...had a li'l shopping...so many shops to choose from...so many items to try on...so many hot salesguy to feast on (hehehe!) yet so little time...

A little trivia about shopping in Seoul...the mall hours are from 10:00am until 5:00am the next day...some of the shopping malls are closed on Mondays...

After shopping we went to CGV Theater in I'Park Mall to attend the premier of the Korean film "The Good, The Bad, The Weird"

Thanks to the kindess of Annie who became our tour guide for the day...

YEOGIN NEOMU CHUWOYO HAEYO! [Jul. 7th, 2008|05:49 am]

Technically speaking it is our 3rd day here in Korea since we arrived in the evening of July 04...it is suppose to be summer here but strangely we haven't experienced the sun rising yet...

We started working today...shoot started at about 4pm at the ART SERVICE Artcenter Set & Studio where they built a huge set...it's like the Hollywood of South Korea...3 huge film studios in one compound

Unfortunately, we are not allowed to take photos inside the set so in between takes we took advantage of taking photographs outside the studios...

Good thing my left foot is ok now...because tommorow is rest day which means SHOPPING DAY in Seoul...

Also, we were invited to attend the premier night of the Korean film THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD starring Korean actor and 2007 Asian Film Awards Best Actor Kang - Ho Song who is also playing the lead role in the film we are shooting here in Korea.

Annyonghi Jumushipsiyo!

ANNYONG HASEYO from KOREA! [Jul. 5th, 2008|11:22 pm]
Thanks to the kindess of our Korean producer that we have internet access in our room....arrived in Seoul last night at around 6pm local time (Seoul is just an hour ahead of Manila) with Mercedes Cabral for the continuation shoot of the Korean film "THIRST"...from the airport we went straight to the set of the film shoot to meet and greet the cast and crew...dinner and had a little booze and then off for a very goodnight sleep...

Today is rest day for both of us so we took a little walk around the studio's vicinity...they call it the ARTIST VILLAGE where only established artists are qualified to buy a lot and build a house...numerous art galleries...concept stores and cafes...great architectural designs...

It was all fun except for one thing...my left foot got sprained while I was going down the stairs...
